MFT Color Challenge

My card for this week's challenge is a holiday one!

I am, indeed, one of the biggest fans of the PI line of MFT stamps!

So anxious to start working on Christmas projects, even with the weather well in the
100-110 range!  Fall will eventually come here in the desert!

Also entered at Scrapper's Delights, Anything Goes!

Cool weather can't get here soon enough,
Keep on crafting, my friends!

Another Western theme card!

My Favorite Things

card challenge to make a gift card holder was the perfect excuse to get out my goodies once more!

On my previous post, I showed the PI "Cowgirl" stamp used on a project.

Now, here is the PI "Cowboy" image to pair up with that!

By switching just a few simple elements, I have two cards ready for any little buckaroo who has a holiday/birthday approaching!

He definitely calls for more masculine colors and I, not intentionally being partial,
gave him a lasso and gold rodeo buckle!
And that is only a pretend gun the little guy has.  I am not a huge gun supporter, especially for those not trained in handling such things.  But when in Arizona...

Wish me luck this challenge go-around!
And get out and enjoy the weather if you are fortunate enough to live where it is comfortable!

Ropin' in some grub,
Jan

Ye-haw! Gift Card Holder!

My Favorite Things
challenge this week is to create a gift card
holder of some sort; card, bag, ect. and I love using an MFT image!

I have had this pocket image forever and always use it as a go-to when I need a cute gift card item.

When colored in pastels, it can be an adorable baby or toddler gift card, and the color choices are unlimited.
In this case, however, it HAD to be worn jeans!

It worked perfectly with my little PI "Cowgirl" stamp.

The stamped pocket is applied to both a white Copics paper and, in this case, a tan patterned cardstock paper.

Color the one on white paper in any color you would like your pocket to be. Then fussy cut out
and adhere along the edges to the background pocket.  This creates your "gift card pocket".

After that, anything goes! Create away!
I've added a little silver cowboy hat charm on the sentiment!

Living in Arizona, these are some of my favorite PI images !

Can't have a little cowgirl these days without a bit of bling!
I have even given her a silver rodeo buckle!

Everyone have a rootin' tootin' week!
Thanks,
Jan

MFT Sketch Challenge 449

MFT Sketch Challenge this week is a twist for sure!
Not your usual layout for  me!
It was funny because I had colored and picked papers out for the color challenge, so this simply meant I had to revise my idea of how I would position and cut!

And , of course, a sparkly red cherry on top!

Enjoy your day!

Happy 60th Birthday!

Sadly, and it's not just me,
but all of my schoolmates from back in the day
are turning, or have turned 60 this year!
(I know, doesn't seem possible that this hot grandma is going to be 60, huh?)

I used yet another adorable image from Paper Smooches
to capture the way we're all feeling...
OLD!

I paper pieced it and added silver Stickles for the chrome and hubcaps.
The cool retro paper is Echo Park, Graceful.
Oh, and the tires are actually black buttons.  Couldn't resist a more dimensional look!
Popped up the whole scooter.

It is my dream to someday have a Vespa (aka any scooter brand)
and live in a community where I can shop and go pretty much everywhere
on my "ride"!  LOL!
So this stamp set definitely won me over!

Check out the challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks Blog and enter your own creation!
We can all use some more Smooches!

Take care out there!

Doodle Dragon {Hearts} to you!

Happy Valentine's Day
from everyone at
Dustin Pike's blog!

Today we are illustrating the MANY ways to use the
Doodle Dragon images on cards for your
Hubby, Sweetie, or little guys!

I made one for a dear little girl who loves sparkles, so the added Stickles was a must!

The image is from the January 2011 Release,
"JanMem8C"
These little skunks are so cute!

The paper is DCWV (of course) and is an old release,
"The Green Stack"
It was one made with 98% recycled paper and is my go-to on many occasions!

These images are sure to win over your little "stinker", too!
And there are literally thousands mor to choose from!

Arctic Wishes from DCWV!

We all love LOOKING at the snow from a distance,
but my grandson LOVES being IN the snow!
(He does not get that from my side of the family.)

Winter Pop of Color!

Sometimes the colors in your photos DEMAND that you go a different color scheme than you typically would. I would NEVER have wanted to use the bright reddish/orange that this layout has, but the sled really decided it for me. Next time, perhaps, I will think to print in B & W!

The papers in the Arctic Wishes stack makes throwing together a layout so simple.
Trust me, if I can do this with a throbbing spinal headache,
think of the amazing projects YOU can make!

Swan Lake Christmas Gift Box

The stamps are from Hampton Art, Graphic 45 collection,
papers from DCWV, "The Heirloom Christmas" stack,
with the added duck feathers to symbolize the swan.

The container is an altered wooden cigar box.

Not only does she sparkle, but she wobbles, too!
Yep, when the box opens, she gently wiggles.

This will make any gift extra special!

Next, hop on over to Dana's blog and see what surprises she has in store for you!
But, first, don't forget to leave a comment on all the blogs for your chance to win a terrific prize!

Make a note to visit the DCWV/Hampton Art Hop Day Two tomorrow!
The girls will be highlighting "modern" projects!
AND 3, yes 3, winners will be chosen from those who comment on all of the blogs to win fantastic prize packages!
Whoo-hoo!

Snickerdoodles Frame

This is the old recipe that my mother and grandmother used for my favorite Christmas cookies for many years.
I've been asked for it over and over again.

Doodle Dragon's Holiday Release!

Dustin Pike's done it again! He has released his Holiday images and are they ever cute!

Check out the store HERE!

 "Melted"

Just in case you're thinking something's missing, you're right!
The weather in Phoenix was just too warm for this guy!

I die cut both the matted, colored image and the acrylic layer out with Spellbinders,
and hinged both with rings.

They were then attached to the front of a square card.

This image made me laugh so hard!
My husband thought it rather sad, but then he often doesn't get the humor here at Doodle Dragon!

There are also some terrific goodie toppers at the store!
I can't wait to make some of those up for the holidays!

Winter Blues

Brrrrr!

It's so easy for me to joke about the freezing weather sitting here in 100 degrees,
but come next Spring, I'll get pleanty of teasing about how I'm sweatin' it out!

The sketch challenge at
this week is a terrific one!
And they are taking part in the "Hope You Can Cling To Challenge"
Of course, it wasn't until I had my sketch card finished that I saw that!
Now I get to make a few more cards during the course of October
for the challenge at Splitcoast!

I haven't had this TCM stamp long, and this is my first chance at inking it up!
"Let it Snow"
And, rather than just straight cutting the edges of my background paper, I chose to
wiggle the scissors around a bit. All it did was make my paper look crooked.
Next time, it's paper cutter only!

Well, I love the little snowman image, and hopefully, that will be the main
focus when a recipient gets this card!
I plan on sending this, along with a few others before the end of the month,
to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
I plan on going through my box of previously completed cards and throwing those in the package, also.
This is something we can all do to help the cause and clean up all these cards we tend to "accumulate" over time.
If they've been posted before, no reposting and entering the contest with each!
Just remember, this is for the cancer patients!

Thanks for visiting me today,
and please, it's Breast Cancer Awareness month!
Do something to help your fellow BFF's,  "breast friends forever"!

Cardinals Greeting....

Stampendous
"Cardinal"

A little appropriate Copic coloring on the male and female birds,
(thanks to Google search!),
Color and fussy cut the leaves and branches,
some punched snowflakes,
and a sprinkling of fabric paint "snow" ...
and what a gorgeous pair of winter Cardinals!

The sketch at Skipping Stones really helped get my mojo going on this one!

It's a Doodle Dragon Christmas!

With the challenge this week at
Pike's Playground
being
"Black and White, with a splash of color",
I took a different approach
with my splash of color being the red in the papers,

and the image having to follow the black and white rule!

This fellow is
the snowman from the
2012 "Christmas in June" release!

Create your own Doodle Dragon Christmas cards or other occasion cards, and enter them at
Dustin Pike's Blog!
Everyone who enters and follows the challenge requirements gets a FREE image!

DCWV Autumn Melody Layout

My FALL layout plus mini album:

I couldn't complain about what we DON'T have in Arizona without noting the good things about living here.

This little mini tucks into the side of my photo and displays pictures of several beautiful aspects about residing in Pheonix.

And the warm, dry winters, barren of snow, and cool enough for a sweater at times.
Ahhh, can't wait.

MFT November Sketch Challenge!

This week at MFT ,  the sketch challenge #462 is  a fairly simple one!.   Here's my take on a much needed Get Well card for my ...
