"Mr. Hollywood"

I am so very proud of my grandson for being so open to acting classes and posing for the many photos that are needed for the various casting calls and photo shoots!

This was taken last year, at the tender age of 9, but you can
already spot a STAR in the making!

The papers used were DCWV
"Jet Black", "Denim",
and Mercury Glass Cardstock, using just a spot of silver glitter glue on the dots of the dark denim paper!
I love the sparkle of the shine on the Mercury Glass pages!
I followed the layout sketch at this month's challenge

I had to switch it up a bit having only the one larger photo to use!
Check it out and you, too, will be entered to win a prize!

"Owl" Always Love You!

Finished another page for my granddaughters album!
Only about two years to go to catch up on!

LOL!

This is paper from the previously released DCWV stack
"Baby Girl"!
Love it!

That hat was just too cute NOT to scrap a page!

I decided to use the shapes on the blanket to make punched hearts for the vellum bag just to give the page some dimension.

There couldn't be a more perfect paper for this layout!
It's really special because Harper's room has the OWL theme throughout!
Adorable!

Enjoy!

Wee Little One!

Finally getting around to scrapping my grandchildren after almost two years of card making only!!!
Shame on me, my bad!

Here's one of my favorite photos of Harper at only two months old.
Those beautiful eyes have been mesmerizing from day one!

Papers used were from the gorgeous new DCWV paper pack,
"hello darlin' Stack"

I love the soft water color look of this page.
The rub-on sentiment was Prima,
Nursery Tales Collection.

The flowers were in my Bazzill stash from their terrific closeout sale when they sold the company here in Phoenix.  Gotta start using all those goodies!

Thanks for letting me share my precious little granddaughter with you!
Lots to catch up on!  She turns two in October!

Dressing Up!

I wanted to brighten the day of a cousin who's been through a lot lately,
so I made her this adorable easy-to-do dress card!

Made from DCWV's new Textile Paper Stack,
this paper is easy to fold so makes it perfect for those projects that involve many folds and cuts!

This little dress pattern is so simple, though, anyone can cut one out and have it on a card in ten minutes!
I used this pattern on the wedding banner I
made several years ago, and everyone just loved it!

This stack has so many cool geometric shapes and colors,
you'll have a million ideas for them!
Thanks for sharing my love of DCWV
More to come, for sure!

And remember, they have a monthly scrap page and card contest that only requires you use DCWV papers!  Any images, or embellies are welcome!
And the prizes, oh wow!  PAPER!!!!

DCWV New Paper Packs!

DCWV has a ton of new papers out for the summer!
If you haven't seen any,
here's a card made with one of my favorites,
Ocean Breeze!

Talk about DCWV making it simple!
These are all papers cut from the stack with no coloring of images, or adding any additional embellishments!
I will probably throw a small sea shell or two on before I mail this, but I wanted to demonstrate how simple it is even if you have no fancy buttons, bows, or items to add!

I'm looking forward to working with more of these papers...
next I'm going through The Textiles Stack to see what goodies I can come up with!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge is here!

"Congratulations"
is our theme for this week's challenge!

With all of the high school, college, and those very
important grade school graduates, this is easy!
Plus, you can include ANY event a friend needs to be congratulated for;
Weddings, Promotions, New House,
any occasion that would be cause for a
celebration!
Use your imagination and join the challenge!

I chose to create a gift for my grandson who has been promoted from
4th Grade Gifted Program to the 5th Grade Gifted class!
He is such a bright and imaginative kid!

The House Mouse image I used is actually called
"Congratulations"
I filled the decorative milk bottle from Michael's
with my one of my grandson's favorite treats,
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chex Mix!

I'm so very proud!

Join the fun at
to try and win some prizes!

Precious Moments!

They're celebrating "Holidays"
over at
House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge!

Birthdays come too often for those of us
who have seen more than a few!
But for the little ones,
it's always a thrill to celebrate yet another one!

My grandson and granddaughter love these little mice
from House Mouse,
so I try to incorporate them whenever possible,
no matter the occasion!
(BTW, we'll be eating cake, not cheese!)

In this case, it's going to be Harper's big 2nd in October!!

(I know, adorable, huh?!)

If you look closely, you can see that this is just a simple step card
turned on its' side.

The adorable papers and brad embellishment are "Baby Mine", Carte Bella
and can be found at
The Scrapbooking Queen's website,
Royal Castle Shoppe HERE!
They also carry the little
Royal Jewels (I used red on this card!)
in so many colors!

And don't forget to join the fun at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge!
on Monday, June 8th!

Have a great day!

Cup of Hugs!

For House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge,
I've made a card for a dear acquaintance who could really use
a big pick-me-up right about now and is a huge coffee drinker!

I used House Mouse's image, "A Warm Cup"'
and in keeping with the "In the Kitchen" theme,
papers that remind me of vintage kitchen
wallpaper/curtains and a red table cloth.

The little coloring needed was with Copics.

Everyone have a really "Mice" day!
~Jan~

P.S. PLEASE, Let me know you were here by leaving a short comment!
I love hearing from you!

Hey There, Beach Baby!

Having just returned from Florida,
I couldn't resist using this hilarious image from

It's one of my favorite rubber stamps from
Art Impressions
It comes complete with both "halves" of this bathing beauty,
along with the Action Wobble Spring you need to make her either madly waving her arm in the air,
or (as some may have it) wiggle her tushie on the backside of the card front!
Either way, it's bound to get a laugh!

The girls back in Cape Canaveral will get a kick out of this!

So, here's to all the gals and all the laughs we had back at the beach!
Oh, how I miss it already.

Papers: Bella Blvd,
Lucky Starz and Molly Collections
Markers: Copic

All of the great supplies used can be found at the links above!
Hope you're enjoying your summer!

The Biggest show on earth!

This week's challenge here at The Royal Castle is to
"Make it a 6 x 6 Square"!

Stampendous Stamp used- "Circus"

Graphic 45 Papers
from the "Le Cirque"
collection.
More of their great papers are available here at
store blog!

Todays tip:  Always lay out your layered cards before gluing anything down permanently!
It's easier to change things around rather than rip them up later!
 (Trust me on this one!)

Have a great week!

Spring means lots of new babies!

At least in the animal world...

I'll be ready for the next "human" announcement I get now, too!
Or perhaps a young one's birthday!

Image from House Mouse, Gruffies, "Bear Blocks"
was used for this card!  Isn't it adorable!
Whether it's mice, bunnies, bears, etc.,
all of the House Mouse critters are just too cute!

Colored with Copics
Pattern papers were
and embellishments are

Cowgirl Up!

Living in Arizona,
I'm a real sucker for everything
horses and cowboys/cowgirls!

This new stamp is a new release from Dove Arts and is available at many of the local scrapbook stores AND especially on
C.C. Designs Store and Blog!

I love the detail and beauty in all of Jennifer's stamps!

Colored with Copics markers.
Paper used was Best Creations, Cowboy Up!
(which is a kraft/glitter two-sided printed paper)
Kraft paper die cut fence
Silver charms (Ebay)
Jute rope

I created this card with it in mind that I am always needing a card to send to a girlfriend who needs just a bit of encouragement.
I know I appreciate it when someone knows
I'm needing that "hug" and a little "yee-haw"!

I'll be entering this in the challenge over at

Have a delightful Friday!

Happy 60th Birthday!

Sadly, and it's not just me,
but all of my schoolmates from back in the day
are turning, or have turned 60 this year!
(I know, doesn't seem possible that this hot grandma is going to be 60, huh?)

I used yet another adorable image from Paper Smooches
to capture the way we're all feeling...
OLD!

I paper pieced it and added silver Stickles for the chrome and hubcaps.
The cool retro paper is Echo Park, Graceful.
Oh, and the tires are actually black buttons.  Couldn't resist a more dimensional look!
Popped up the whole scooter.

It is my dream to someday have a Vespa (aka any scooter brand)
and live in a community where I can shop and go pretty much everywhere
on my "ride"!  LOL!
So this stamp set definitely won me over!

Check out the challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks Blog and enter your own creation!
We can all use some more Smooches!

Take care out there!

Maculine Boy's Birthday card !

comes to the rescue!

This grandma was at a complete loss as to what type of birthday card to make for my 10 year old grandson!
Then I recalled he and I had just recently watched one of our favorite movies for yet another time!  LOL!

In "The Princess Bride", one of the main characters has a
heavy lisp and repeatedly says, "That's inconceivable"!
My grandson thinks it's hilarious and repeats it for several days after watching the film...again.  Kids!

So, after going through my Paper Smooches images, I
recalled Kim having one of a knight!
Perfect!

The photo isn't the best. I only remembered getting a picture taken by my daughter
with her cell phone after he opened it at his party.
I'm surprised it survived a direct hit from his little 15 month old sister!
It's an easel card, and he'd never gotten one from me before.
He thought it was petty special.

The heavy metal buckle served well as a "shield" .
However, it's a good thing I didn't have to mail it!

Kids are so much fun when they get to an age where they
can get that type of humor in a card!

This card, along with another I made for a friend's birthday,
are being entered in the challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge Blog this month!
Also, there's a BLOG HOP going on over there!
On my way!

Have a great weekend!

House Mouse welcomes Spring!

The House Mouse challenge this month is:

APRIL SHOWERS!

Check it out over at their challenge blog at

Always a great time and some wonderful designs to look at by both the design team and others who have joined in the party!  And, of course, some great prizes to win!

Here's my tribute to "April Showers" although I would be remiss to mention that here in Arizona, we have yet to see any of this strange phenomenon you call rain!
Come on, Arizona and California, we NEED rain!!!!

Even my desert friends can appreciate the sentiment behind this card.

Now, keep your fingers crossed that this dry spell will be over soon!
My day would be brightened simply by winning some terrific House Mouse product!

Back in the game!

I am so proud to announce that I got the best news ever when
I returned from my Florida vacation!
I've often said that the moment you step away and stop thinking about things,
that's when great surprises happen!

I have been asked by my good friend from my past DCWV days, Britt Bass, to be on the
Design Team!

I will begin in April with my first submission
(exact date not known quite yet)
but if you're not familiar with this company,
you definitely need to check them out!

Click on the highlighted name above to see all the terrific products they carry!
Dozens of brands we all love and at great prices!

I can't wait to get going and to know my fellow design team members!
I will showcase each as she posts her own first creations!

Always good to know you're still in the "circle"!
Yippee!
