Easter Lay-out

Couldn't resist scrapping these pictures of my grandson hunting for eggs. It was a rather uneventful hunt due to the fact that he was the only individual under the age of 30 looking for plastic eggs. But, it didn't stop him from having a wonderful time!
The lay-out couldn't have been easier or faster. I used the Bo Bunny paper from the Chocolate Bunnies collection that I got from Thoughts2paper.com!

National Scrapbook Day!

Shared the weekend with good friends and managed to knock out quite a few cards and lay-outs. I have started sending cards to hospitilized children with cancerous brain tumors, and the time I had with fellow scrappers gave me the much needed encouragement to get these done! These are only a few! If anyone else is interested, please go to sendlovetoday.org to find out more. A very worthwhile organization!

Hobby Lobby Experience

Some of you may have heard that I had a slight "accident" at my local Hobby Lobby last week. I was reaching for a 12 X 12 paper pad and cut my pinky finger pretty badly on the glass divider between the products. I bled a fair amount and had to fill out an accident report. I also had to ice it down before it stopped bleeding. The response I got from the sales girl and the manager were not the BEST that I would expect. He was polite enough, but she hadn't a clue what to do under such circumstances. I had to ask her to bring paper towels to bleed onto, a bandage, eventually some ice to slow the bleeding, and antibiotic ointment. She DID offer me an empty box where she was doing inventory to keep from dripping blood on the floor. I walked myself across the entire store to rinse it under cold water initially to see what the situation was. Anyway, long story shorter, corporate office called me today (It happened last Friday. This is Wednesday) and seemed genuinely concerned. The gentleman was very nice and I assured him that the possibility of infection was past and that I was healing well. He is sending me a gift card and he promised to check on the safety problem of these glass dividers. So I wanted everyone to know that Hobby Lobby came through and seems to be attempting to better the situation at the store. I will be visiting them again soon, I'm sure.

The hardest cards to make...

My daughter-in-law's mother just passed away, and I have to say it was the most difficult time I have had making a card. My DIL is young (early 30's) and loosing your mother would be difficult at any time of your life. But to have it happen so early and so suddenly would be horrendous. So my objective was - heart-felt, pretty, but not too "pretty". Wow...now I know what Halmark must go through! Anyway, I like the way it came out. It is my hope that the message helps carry her through the next months.

Inside reads "that memory becomes a treasure".

I made this card for my grandson this last week while on Spring break and putting together a Yard Sale. Whew! Glad that's over! He turns 5 on Monday and loves pirates!

Spellbinder Storage

For those of you not familiar with the Cuttlebug, it is my new favorite toy! Yes, it's been out for years, but it was one more thing I didn't THINK I needed to add to my collection of gadgets necessary for scrapbooking! Well, my Spellbinders Nestabilities were stacking up as I added to that collection! Plus, they tend to be a bit fragile while traveling from crop to crop, or even room to room. This is an idea i read about online and love it! I can store two sets in each CD holder and tell at a glance what is inside! The dark strip is a cut piece of magnet vinyl I had purchsed for another project! Cost? Nothing! Everyone has a few of the thicker CD cases that they bought for computer storage or a few old CD's you just don't listen to anymore! I will use these CD's to cover and bind with my Zutter to make plastic cd books!

Scrap Pages for February!

Yes, just getting around to posting the project I put together last month. This was a board album I picked up at Crop Girls for our wedding pictures. My friend, Jennifer, shamed me into finally making a wedding scrap album and I loved the shapes of these "pages". However, I'm still looking into printing the pictures. Apparently when you make a slideshow CD, the inages are "low resolution". Working that out! I hope to do much better with the regular posting since I am now a Design Team member! The pressure is ON!!!

Design Team Challenge

The paper is Farm Fresh by October Afternoon, and I loved everything in the paper pack! So many directions this paper can go! Sorry the picture didn't come out better. The artificial light was bad, and it's been RAINING so I couldn't take it outside! Thanks, Liz! You're the best!

A-MAZEing

My grandson, Hayden, loves to draw his own mazes and had me going on this one! It actually had dead-ends and tricky routes! He's really good at all sorts of puzzles and games that take all your concentration. I am pretty AMAZED by this four year old!

Last Crop of the Year!

Spent a fun evening with some of the crop group gals! We talked and laughed, and got a BIT of scrapping done. The highlight was seeing Cris's brand new 3 day old baby girl, Harley! I've seen babies with hair, but this little gal could have pigtails! So very cute! Took part in my very first "White Elephant" exchange, and have to say, it could be addicting! Thanks, Amie, for a wonderful evening.

Seattle Corn Maze

Corn Maze in Washington

Every year, my husband's daughter and husband take their son to the local corn maze. This was my first layout that I had an opportunity to use my Cuttlebug embossing folders!

Kai's First day of Pre-School

This is my husband's daughter and her family. They live in Seattle and we see or hear from them rarely, but we did get some nice pictures from the past few months.
Kai is 5 and will be starting kindergarten this next school year.

Thanksgiving Card

I finally finished the handful of cards for family that I made this year! Nothing complicated. Hopefully, I will see my cards getting a bit more refined and creative over the next year!
