Cameo Greeting!

The challenge this week at
DYSU
is...

VINTAGE!
AGED!
DISTRESSED!

No matter how you say it,

Really throw on the ink, lace, ribbon, distressed edges,
whatever it is that speaks "old" to you!

And our sponsors:

* Silver & Gold Embossing Powders

*Winner's Choice of 5 Digis

* Winner's Choice of 3 Digis

Vintage is one of my favorite styles!

I used a Stampendous Jumbo Cling stamp,
and heat embossed the cameo image and then portions of the vintage floral frame
onto the basic chipboard dress form.

I embellished the cameo with a piece of a rhinestone bracelet I had, and
added the pearl, bling, ruffle and trim to the dress form.
The pin is handmade with assorted beads.

I will leave the inside blank and black, and when the occasion arises,
I will print out a message for the recipient.

Supplies:
Paper:  Cosmo Cricket
Chipboard: Pink Paisley
Stamp: Stampendous
Die: Spellbinders

 Please visit all of the Design Team's blogs
(their links are on my sidebar)
and leave them some love!
They have all been working so very hard and have some amazing projects to share!

The wheels are turning at DYSU!

This week's challenge at
Do You Stack Up?

Anything with Wheels!

Our wonderful sponsors:

* $10 Gift Certificate

* Winner's Choice of 10 Digis

* Winner's Choice of 5 Digis

 Here is my card using one of our previous sponsors' images,
CI-325 from Crafty Individuals!

I love the way this stamp heat embosses!  Every sweet, tiny detail shows up!

I've found myself needing more masculine cards,
with male friends and family having birthdays and short stays in the hospital.
That's also why this was left without a sentiment.
This way, I can use it for anything!

In case you're wondering, the black metal embellishment is a piece from an old library magazine storage container. I simply cut the corners and edges that contained the metal strips, and then flattened them and sanded slightly. The containers had gotten wet and were in poor shape anyway, so rather than throw them away, I recycled!

A length of mesh or two, some sprockets attached with brads, some ribbon,
and we're done!

Enter to win some fun images of your own!

DYSU - Challenge #90

* Winner's Choice of 4 Images

* Winner's Choice of 3 Digis

* Winner's Choice of 3 Digis

Here's my card using one of the images from
My Heart Pieces.

What a sweet little gal!

This image gave me the perfect opportunity to texture with my Copics and to use the heat embossing technique that I've come to love so much!

A bit of Glossy Accents on the mirror,
and Zva black rhinestone swirls finish her off.

If you've been following my blog, you know that I have been making my backgrounds a little more interesting by dry embossing, sanding the color-core cardstock,
and then heat embossing with clear powder over the entire surface.
You can see my other projects using this technique
 here (without the dry embossing)
and here!
I just can't get enough!

DYSU gets "krafty"!

* $15 Store Credit

* Winner's Choice of 4 Images

* Winner's Choice of 3 Images

The challenge this week being to use kraft paper and twine,
I actually printed my Meljen's image on kraft paper, and colored it up with Copics!

I also layered it on a kraft mat and burlap!

I like the "folksy" feel of this image and card!
My "twine" happens to be the loose threads from my burlap!

 Join us at DYSU!
You could be a winner!

DYSU Challenge #88 - Best "Witches"!

The Stamps of Life
* Winner's Choice of 2 Stamp Sets

This week I'm sending October Birthday "witches" !

Using a Stamps of Life set,
I paired it up with the pattern papers from
DCWV
in their new "Bewitched" matstack.

Embossing the little banners really made them POP off the paper!  And the little sentiments included make for so many options as to what direction these images can go!

Simple inside of my card:

If you haven't seen the rest of the DYSU Design Team's projects, please go check them out and leave some love.
A girl needs to know she's appreciated on occasion!

Yes, It's School Time at Do You Stack Up!

Can You Digi It
* $10 Gift Certificate

My Heart Pieces
* Winner's Choice of 3 Digis
Melonheadz Illustrating
* $15 Gift Certificate

My card this week focuses on encouragement for the student.
Here it is, using a "Can You Digi It" image,

The cloud was printed on white, the bird on yellow, and the gorgeous background is new from DCWV, "Bouquet de Fleur", available at Michael's!
I love the music sheet print on the little bird and the text on the cloud!
It all comes on the digital image!
I popped up both the cloud and the bird.
I just noticed that one of my machine stitches slipped through on the last heart...
homemade cards...that's what makes them special.

Since I've "retired" from teaching, I lose track of how quickly it's time for everyone else to go back to school!

Check out the rest of the DYSU Design Team's projects!
They're sure to get you back into the "school year mode"!

And, please, leave a comment. They truly make my day!

DYSU CHallenge #86!

We have three amazing sponsors this week:

One Year PDF subscription

Winner's Choice of 5 Digis

$16 Gift Certificate

Fantasy, combined with Halloween, mix in a bit of romance...

I had some Graphic 45, "Hallowe'en in Wonderland" paper left over from Fall last year and decided to use it to clear the way for yet more NEW papers!  Whee!
Other than the spider who was stamped and heat embossed, no images were used on this card.  And the sentiment was one generated on my computer in Word...
easiest card I've made in a while!

Since "Alice" is a fictional character, I figured this would count as a fantasy project!  I dearly love little Alice. And it would be so like me, too, to pick up and eat a biscuit just because it said "Eat me"... yea, I'm gullible that way!

Go check out the rest of the Design Team's projects!
I'm sure their fantasy cards are fun, too!
