A Little Painting Fun!

This week's challenge at
Autumn/Fall!

Good thing because I have several more Halloween cards to make before mid October!

I picked an image I hadn't had the chance to color before now.
How cute are these little mice?

And additionally, the 1st prize this week is from Stampendous!

I DO so love me some scrumptious Stampendous goodies!
I used their embossing powders (Aged Scarlet and Green Glitter) for the splats of paints.
I have been anxious to unpack more of my craft supplies to find my embossing heat gun!
You'll see me use many of their products on my cards!
As always, colored with Copics!

Thanks for sharing in the Halloween "spirit",
Jan

Halloween is just around the corner!
our friends in the UK,
have a monthly challenge of
"Anything Goes"
plus a fun "Progressive Freebie Challenge"!
That means they offer a FREE image to use in a project and win prizes! Their images are adorable, so you might want to join in!

I ran across a cute little SD image that I've had for a long time,
and with Halloween creeping up on us,
I thought I'd get a start on  my cards!

Simple, but fun to color!
The "BOO" is a puffy sticker from DCWV!

It's fun to find yet another challenge to take part in, plus I'd love
to win some new Scrapper's Delights images!
They have some adorable little gals that would be perfect for my granddaughter's cards!

At five, I have her starting to make cards of her own now!

Thanks for a great time!

MFT Color Challenge

My card for this week's challenge is a holiday one!

I am, indeed, one of the biggest fans of the PI line of MFT stamps!

So anxious to start working on Christmas projects, even with the weather well in the
100-110 range!  Fall will eventually come here in the desert!

Also entered at Scrapper's Delights, Anything Goes!

Cool weather can't get here soon enough,
Keep on crafting, my friends!

Another Western theme card!

My Favorite Things

card challenge to make a gift card holder was the perfect excuse to get out my goodies once more!

On my previous post, I showed the PI "Cowgirl" stamp used on a project.

Now, here is the PI "Cowboy" image to pair up with that!

By switching just a few simple elements, I have two cards ready for any little buckaroo who has a holiday/birthday approaching!

He definitely calls for more masculine colors and I, not intentionally being partial,
gave him a lasso and gold rodeo buckle!
And that is only a pretend gun the little guy has.  I am not a huge gun supporter, especially for those not trained in handling such things.  But when in Arizona...

Wish me luck this challenge go-around!
And get out and enjoy the weather if you are fortunate enough to live where it is comfortable!

Ropin' in some grub,
Jan

Ye-haw! Gift Card Holder!

My Favorite Things
challenge this week is to create a gift card
holder of some sort; card, bag, ect. and I love using an MFT image!

I have had this pocket image forever and always use it as a go-to when I need a cute gift card item.

When colored in pastels, it can be an adorable baby or toddler gift card, and the color choices are unlimited.
In this case, however, it HAD to be worn jeans!

It worked perfectly with my little PI "Cowgirl" stamp.

The stamped pocket is applied to both a white Copics paper and, in this case, a tan patterned cardstock paper.

Color the one on white paper in any color you would like your pocket to be. Then fussy cut out
and adhere along the edges to the background pocket.  This creates your "gift card pocket".

After that, anything goes! Create away!
I've added a little silver cowboy hat charm on the sentiment!

Living in Arizona, these are some of my favorite PI images !

Can't have a little cowgirl these days without a bit of bling!
I have even given her a silver rodeo buckle!

Everyone have a rootin' tootin' week!
Thanks,
Jan

MFT Color Challenge 123

This week's color challenge at
is a fun one, for sure!

Purple, Raspberry, and Gray (in this case to represent a silver cupcake wrapper)

Craftin' away!
Jan

PS.  My image for the sketch challenge worked great for both these challenges!
How often does that happen?

MFT Sketch Challenge 449

MFT Sketch Challenge this week is a twist for sure!
Not your usual layout for  me!
It was funny because I had colored and picked papers out for the color challenge, so this simply meant I had to revise my idea of how I would position and cut!

And , of course, a sparkly red cherry on top!

Enjoy your day!

Who can resist these hilarious images from

Here is my second card made with the gal from the same
set I used on my earlier card.
These are so versatile.  Use them together or separately.
My friends love getting these!

As you can see, like me, this gal just keeps on talkin'!
Summer is the perfect time for a cold latte and
AI stampin'!

Thanks, AI, for terrific challenge!

Stay cool in this heat,
Jan

Lovin' Art Impressions a Latte!!!

The current card challenge at AI
(Art Impressions for those of you not familiar with them!)
is "Coffee Cards"!

Even though I am strictly a teetotaler,
I have many friends who love their cup of coffee, hot or cold!

Here's my card using the guy from the set I call
"Retired"
(SC0651)

How many wives out there can relate to this?  LOL!

I love coloring these images and AI
has so many hilarious and adorable images,
it's always difficult to chose one!
Off to color more goodies!

Keep on scrappin'!

School Daze at House Mouse!

The new weekly

is:
"Back to School"
or, as always, Anything Goes!

Go to the link and see what amazing prizes they have weekly!

I find trying to meet the weekly challenge theme tends to make me be a bit more creative and helps me choose the image I want to stamp and color!

So frustrated looking!
My grandson is starting high school this year (yikes!)
and this pretty much sums up his orientation day!
He loves his new classes, so it will all turn out fine.

I used my Copics for this little guy, and die cut a Spellbinders sunflower to
tie into the image!

Thanks for looking at my blog today,
and please leave a message so I don't feel all alone out here!

Happy Scrapping!

Another Birthday idea from MFT!

My second card today using the sketch challenge at MFT!

(If you'd like to go to the blog, just scroll down to my previous post and click on the link!)

On my second card, I simply utilized the
"Happy Birthday"
stamp again and followed the sketch rules.

The star is a fabric stick-on that our 15 yr old grandson can remove
and re-use on a backpack or school folder, etc.

Thanks for checking out my blog,
and keep on crafting!

Jan

Happy Rockin' Birthday!

New card sketch at My Favorite Things!

I never have enough masculine/boy cards on hand so I try and use these challenges
as an opportunity to add a card or two to my ready-to-go stash!

I picked sentiments on both cards from an older
MFT stamp set,
"First Class Friends"

This has come in very useful more times than I can recall!
The pattern paper is actually from an old stack from Bazzill Papers.
Oh how I miss them here in Phoenix!

The inside is fairly simple so that I can adjust for any one's birthday who does not live local!

There are sooo many sentiments to choose from in this huge collection of stamps!
Love them!

Here's to a very happy new month, and hope everyone is out there crafting and scrapping!

Winter Friends at House Mouse!

This week's challenge is to use a House Mouse stamp that includes a

Since my stash* is limited, I chose this
little winter image and used a finch as Mudpie's buddy!
Yellow Finches are common here in Phoenix all year around and is what
I see a majority of at my bird feeder.

*  Yea!!!  My House Mouse order came in today!  Three new stamps to play with!

I am one step closer to getting my holiday cards made!

Copics used were:
E15, E21, E31, E23, E25, E50, E51, E93
R46, R59, Y02, Y06, G28, and G85

The sky was sponge-dabbed on with a light B82 before stamping that adorable image!
Also added was a touch of Glossy Accents to the berries. I may throw on some red glitter glue before mailing this one.  Just to tie in with the sparkle leaves!

Happy crafting everyone!

MFT Birthday Girl

Once I started, I just couldn't resist using the same sketch challenge at
shown on my previous post on a birthday card for my granddaughter's upcoming birthday!
As it happens, it also qualifies for last week's color challenge
at

I'm determined to add some new stamps to my
MFT collection. Mine are slightly outdated.

I still love the ones I have!
This is "PI Celebration",
with the sentiment from "PI My Birthday"!

As always, colored with my Copics, and trying to use the
DCWV papers from my days on their DT!

Added some Stickles here and there, along with the candles and bow from
my stash.  I love the little golden slippers because my granddaughter
would so wear that exact outfit given the chance!

She'll be turning six, so the baby cards are over.
These should be a terrific replacement for unicorns and puppies!

She loves the homemade and 3D cards and usually keeps them.

Yep, she's the diva that inspires me to create the cards and scrapbook.
My grandson, at 14, is somewhat harder to wrangle down to get a photo!

Well, that's a little peek into my world as a Grandma!

Happy Crafting!

MFT new sketch challenge!

This week's sketch challenge at
is
I flipped it on it's side and created this card for a cousin who is going through some really rough health issues right now. Hope it brightens her day!

Pure Innocence image
"My Umbrella"
from some years ago.
I still love using her so that I can paper piece both the
umbrella and her adorable little boots!

Popped up the umbrella accent and added a charm and she's ready to be sent off!

Colored with Copics markers, and papers are DCWV.
It sure would be great to win some credit towards MFT products.
I need to update my collection and a die set for some of these favorites would be good, too!

I have a birthday card to start on next!!
Happy crafting!

Rainy Day Blues???

With so many friends and relatives experiencing flooding and continuous rains this Spring, I chose to go with an
"Anything Goes"
entry this week!

Hopefully, this will bring a smile to someone's face as
they watch the raindrops fall!

This is an older Hopper image called "Puddle Fun". Like the Mouse Team Designer, Bunny,
it's always been one of my favorites!

Colored with Copics, and using the clever little sentiment, I think it projects my sympathy
but with a subtle hint of optimism...

Happy coloring to everyone!
And if you should find yourself needing any stamps,
House Mouse has enough to keep any stamper happy for a long time!

MFT Birthday Project Peekin' in!

July's monthly card challenge at
is
"Peek a Boo Birthday"!

Here's my take on a P I  stamp
"Aim High"
with a cut out for the adorable little kite. (Since discontinued)
Somewhat different from the cut-out being open to a flat stamped image underneath.  I enjoy allowing the little stamped piece to
stick out through the circle cut!
And I can't resist fussy cutting out her little dress!

I like keeping the sentiment somewhat non-specific. but still appropriate for a birthday!
You never know what occasions may "POP UP" in the future.

Happy crafting everyone!

Swingin' in for a Color Challenge!

This week's challenge at House Mouse Challenge #294 is:
A Color challenge!!!

This gave me the perfect excuse to pull out my pink and purple papers along with this adorable House Mouse image of the flowers!

I chose the Pink, Purple, and White trio of colors for my card.

Used my Copics markers and added some Tattered Angels Shimmer Mist on the blossoms and
Violet Leaf stack from DCWV.

The shimmer is difficult to see in a photo, but IRL, it looks amazing.
I also chose to add a few water droplets using my Glossy Accents.
By popping up the flowers by stamping the image twice and coloring and cutting out the second set,
adhere with a few 3D foam squares, and your image becomes so much more dimensional!

These little images are so easy to color and can be used for any occasion.
As you can see, I chose a generic greeting so that it'll be at the ready no matter
what the happy occasion!

#housemousechallenge

Well, off to do some more coloring and enjoy this LOVELY 100+ weather
here in Phoenix!

It's Summer at the House!

The House Mouse,
that is!

This week's challenge is
Summer Fun!
Since I have just recently started coloring again
after some medical issues,
one of my first stops was at some of my favorite blogs,
two of those being Stampendous and House Mouse!

One of my many favorite images
from House Mouse/Stampendous is this little
Happy Hopper!

I chose to color him up with my Copics markers,
and make a 3 dimensional card.
The wonderful thing about these little animal images is that they can be used for any occasion!
In this case, I have a dear friend who's birthday is
in August, so what better way to send a "cool" wish!

Happy coloring to everyone out there!
If you're like me, and have been on a sabbatical from
scrapping, get back in there!!!

MFT November Sketch Challenge!

This week at MFT ,  the sketch challenge #462 is  a fairly simple one!.   Here's my take on a much needed Get Well card for my ...
