I would have preferred to use cheese cloth, but all my scrapping supplies are pretty much packed in boxes at the moment.

These little skunks are so cute!

 

The paper is DCWV (of course) and is an old release,

"The Green Stack"

It was one made with 98% recycled paper and is my go-to on many occasions!

 

These images are sure to win over your little "stinker", too!

Doodle Dragon - Simple and Easy!

Here's a birthday card I made for a special little boy who will be turning 4 soon!  WOW!

Seems like he was just crawling around in diapers!

 

 

I used two of Dustin's images from the Christmas in July set!

They were so much fun to paper-piece!

To add a bit more pop to the card, I made it a step card!

 

The glittered letters are from an old chipboard set from DCWV, "Animal Crackers",

as are the pattern papers.

Those of us on the Doodle Dragon Design Team love to give Dustin shXX,  cra...ummm...errr,  a hard time, and lot of crap about things in general.

But he allows us to have our fun at his expense and creates the cutest little images.

Doodle Dragon's Holiday Release!

 

 

Dustin Pike's done it again! He has released his Holiday images and are they ever cute!

Just in case you're thinking something's missing, you're right!

The weather in Phoenix was just too warm for this guy!

 

 

I die cut both the matted, colored image and the acrylic layer out with Spellbinders,

and hinged both with rings.

 

They were then attached to the front of a square card.

 

 

 This image made me laugh so hard!

My husband thought it rather sad, but then he often doesn't get the humor here at Doodle Dragon!

 

There are also some terrific goodie toppers at the store!

 I can't wait to make some of those up for the holidays!

Birthday Fishes!

Have you ever thought about hanging a tag

UPSIDE DOWN? 

I always think of tags as hanging DOWN,

 or off from one side...

 

I wanted the balloon string attached to the tag,

but wanted the tag to "float" UP.

 

Here's what I came "up" with...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN from the "Playground"!

The greeting this week comes courtesy of

"Achmed, the Dead Terrorist"!

and courtesy of Dustin Pike's skeleton image!

(with which I took HUGE liberties!)

For those of you who don't know who Achmed is,

he is the infamous, highly "unsuccessful" terrorist puppet that

the comedian, Jeff Dunham, uses in his stage performances.

Jeff is rude and crude, and very politically incorrect,

but we find ourselves laughing in spite of ourselves.

 

The story goes:

Born in Iraq, Achmed grew up in a family of terrorists, and was determined to carry on his father's trade....

He was not very good at it.  LOL!

(Although he insists it's only a "flesh wound"...)

 

For those of you who are strong of heart and not easily offended,

check him out on the Comedy Channel!

For those of you who are offended by my card,

and have loved ones who are foreign terrorists,

I do not apologize.  

 

Note Achmed's stylish handcuffs, given to him by the US military!
 

My son is an avid Jeff Dunham fan, and is going to get a huge kick out of this card!

Again, I've gone the "adult" card route with the Doodle Dragon image,

but this only demonstrates the WIDE spectrum of cards these adorable characters
can be used for!

Seldom do I break out and just let my wierd humor come across in my cards, but...

after all, it IS for Halloween!

Bwaahahahaha.....

As a terrific new release, we have this little bathing beauty!
I made this card as just a basic, "Howdy, from vacay!" type message.

"Sand between my toes"....

This bear image can be found in Dustin's brand new releases!

It's hard to see, but her little bikini IS yellow with tiny ploka dots!

Here's my second card made for the challenge.

Gate fold card, simply decorated with a sweet sentiement, and a bit of cord...

It's difficult to see in the photo, but my little bear hangs from the sides of the card, and swings freely inside when the card is opened.

Doodle Dragon's really out there!

Okay, I took some liberties with the challenge this month!  I am feeling a bit silly because of this ridiculously hot weather we are having, and I think the heat got to me. (We'll call it that anyway!)

The theme is "Gettin' Girly".

Well, I don't do "GIRLY" cards too often, BUT I do silly, off the grid, out-of-the-box , and slightly off-color ones every chance I get!

Some of you may recognize this fella as being the very normal, conservative clown from Dustin's CIRCUS release. Since the challenge was to "get girly", I figured, send the little dude to Las Vegas with a couple hundred bucks to spend and a night on the town, and see what comes back...well...I never knew...

"JoJo", the clown, became "Josephine", the clown!  HAHA!

Yes, highly disturbing and pretty funny if you ask me!

"WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS....
STAYS IN VEGAS!"

Proves that Dustin's images can be used for those adult cards, too!

It's hip to be square at Doodle Dragon's!

The challenge at Pike's Playground this week is to make a

SQUARE

card!

And with the holidays closing in

(yes, Christmas will be here before we know it!)

I chose to use one of the images from the new
"Christmas in June"

set.

My grandson very nicely pointed out that the cookies HAVE to be
chocolate chip... that's Santa's favorite kind! 
Seems I recall my daughter liking those, too! (wink, wink!)

Doodle Dragon Challenge time!

It's that time again,

and it's a sketch challenge!

I love the funny images Dustin Pike comes up with!

This one really felt perfect for the HOT days we've been having in Phoenix! 

The day I made this card, it was 106 degrees, 
with little sign of it getting much cooler. 
We have forest fires burning everywhere!

So, on a lighter note, here's how OUR summer Bar-B-Q usually ends up!

No, just kidding!

I colored the image with Copics, except for the apron. (which is paper pieced) Then fussy-cut and popped it up. Last, added a bit of Glossy Accents and Stickles.

The DP is Echo Park, This and That, "Charming".

I wanted some flies for the elements on the side, but didn't have anything that fit the bill.  So, I made my own... hey, I tried.

Again, I love these images and it's always fun to send these to folks!
I get the best compliments when I use a Doodle Dragon image!

Doodle Dragon loves Alice in Wonderland!

Dustin Pike, over at Doodle Dragon Studios,

 loves all things Disney and the characters from Alice are no exception!

This adorable image of the Caterpillar from the book/movies is one of the MANY available in the Blogiversary package on sale now!

The choices are endless...dragons, frogs, cats, hippos, the list goes on and on...

I think it's really cute the way the caterpillar is blowing bubbles, rather than the typical pictures we have of him smoking a hookah...of course, we all grew up with a drug-smokin' bug, and never really thought anything of it... times they are a'changin'...

When faced with the question as to what color to make the mushroom, I debated on a more realistic choice.  But in the end, it's not really fantasy unless you throw some pink or purple in there!  Yes, I, Jan,  used my pink Copics!  WOW!
